Growing up, Makensie Banda always enjoyed helping her mother design parties and events for family and friends. But it wasn’t until she began working for Leslie Henry at The Phoenix Ballroom in downtown Waco that she discovered her love of wedding planning.

“Seeing wedding-after-wedding, bride-after-bride walk down the aisle, it finally started to hit me,” Banda said. “I knew I had to have a bigger part in it all.”

She realized how much she enjoyed working with wedding vendors, and brides and grooms, and simply fell in love with the beauty of it all. That’s when she decided to launch Heavenly Weddings in 2016.

The owner of the design and event planning company hopes to inspire couples to dream a better dream for their wedding.

“We specialize in fine detail and unique design, transforming ordinary events into extraordinary moments that last a lifetime,” she said.

Brides and grooms who book with Heavenly Weddings can choose from one of three options: full-service planning and design, which offers full support and planning for weddings, partial planning for couples who have already started planning but need some professional advice, and day-of coordination that includes support and management for already planned weddings.

“With all of my services, the couples can focus on their special moments while we bring together an awesome team of vendors to create a magical wedding day,” Banda said. The wedding planner loves what she does and wants every client to feel like they had the best day ever.

“There is so much detail for each wedding, and I really make a point to help them create a unique vision that is special to them as a couple,” she said.
