Get a luxury experience with French creole charm at Lagniappe (pronounced Lan-yap) Bridal Boutique in downtown Temple nestled in the former Kyle hotel. With old world glamor and modern opulence, mother-daughter duo Becca and Lynne Sloane provide brides with a wedding dress shopping experience they won't get anywhere else.
“Our biggest goal is to make all brides feel loved and appreciated,” Becca said. “We want them to have had a great experience even if they don’t find their dream dress with us.”
As a Belton High school student several years ago, Becca noticed the lack of formal wear options in the Temple/Belton area. Trying to find a dress for homecomings and proms took her all the way to Dallas and Austin.
“She had that in mind when she went to college, and it was there that she was introduced to the bridal industry and fell in love with it,” Lynne said. “When she approached her father and I a couple of years ago about opening a store, we knew it was the natural thing to bring a premier luxury bridal boutique to the area.”
And because Lynne’s husband is a veteran, the mother-daughter duo decided to include formal wear options for those looking for dresses for military balls.
“We hope that every single person who comes into our store feels beautiful and confident and knows that they are loved,” Lynne said.
Their focus on their client’s experience is even reflective in the boutique’s name.
“My mom is originally from Louisiana, so we wanted to pay respects to our heritage and influences,” Becca said. “The word lagniappe came to our minds because it is French creole for ‘ a little something extra.’ That’s what we hope to give our clients through our services, efforts, and our variety of gowns.”
The boutique owners want to create an intimate experience for every client. When brides book a bridal session at Lagniappe, they get a private room for their bridal party where they are treated to mimosas and champagne, and a personal stylist to help them find the perfect gown for their big day.
While the bridal boutique does take walk-ins, they prefer customers book appointments online or give them a call ahead of time so the mother-daughter team can better serve brides-to-be.
Lagniappe Bridal Boutique is open Wednesday, Fridays, and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Thursdays from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m., and Sundays by appointment only.
