Three years ago, Jared and Kayla found each other with the help of a popular dating app. The app wasn’t wrong when it claimed Kayla and Jared to be a perfect match—the two realized that they were both small town natives living in Austin, giving them so much in common from the start, and the shared love of Harry Potter and Star Wars was a bonus!
Before long, Jared was making plans with Kayla’s family to surprise her with a proposal.
On a family trip to Colorado, Kayla and her family stopped at a park to take a quick holiday family photo. Kayla’s sister feigned prepping her for the photo as a distraction, while Jared got down on one knee behind her. Kayla was completely surprised!
Kayla’s first call in her wedding planning process was to a friend she had made while she attended Baylor, a local wedding coordinator who offered Kayla a side job as an assistant for some of her events. She has started brainstorming for her rustic elegance theme: emerald with light pink and peach accents. While Kayla is excited about all the décor possibilities, what excites her most is having all of her and Jared’s favorite people in one place to celebrate.
Jared and Kayla had their engagement photos taken by Jade and Kyle Photography, who Kayla described as extremely easy to work with. She was pleased with how great their photos came out and loved the added perk of including their adorable dog in the photoshoot—everything turned out so great, she booked them for her wedding, too!
Kayla and Jared will be saying I Do on May 7th, 2022 at Old Bethany in Lorena, TX.
