For Kaye and Jason, their love story began with a chance encounter at a Drum-and-Bass show in San Antonio, where mutual friends introduced them. Little did they know, they hailed from the same small California town, yet their paths had never crossed until that fateful night.
"We find out that we both live in Houston and decide to add each other on Facebook. Later that night he gave me my first muffin from Bucc-ee's and explained the proper way to eat it...reheat it in the oven with butter," Kaye reminisces with a laugh, "I should have known then he was the one!"
Their journey of love deepened as they explored the vibrant scenes of South by Southwest in Austin, and soon after, Kaye found herself drawn to Jason's warmth and charm, eventually moving in with him, marking the beginning of their inseparable bond.
The proposal, a heartfelt moment on their anniversary, also Jason's birthday, unfolded in the cozy comfort of their home, accompanied by their beloved fur baby, Rocky. "As he starts bending on one knee, I realize what is happening and start crying. At this point Rocky comes over and stands between us wanting to join in on the love," Kaye shares, her eyes still gleaming with the memory.
Their wedding, a celebration of love and togetherness, reflected their desire for a relaxed atmosphere where family and friends could simply bask in the joy of the occasion. With a simple yet elegant design, they let the venue's natural beauty shine, opting for a stress-free planning process that aligned with their busy lives.
What truly set their wedding apart was its unique touches and personalized elements. From the bridesmaids' individual dress choices to the unconventional flower rings instead of traditional bouquets, Kaye and Jason infused their personalities into every aspect of the celebration.
Months of dance lessons culminated in a spectacular performance, showcasing their love for music and each other in a medley of dance styles that left their guests in awe.
"We both like all types of music, so there was a range from 90s R&B to Motown, Texas Country, 90s-20s pop, and underground hip hop," Kaye shares, reflecting on the diverse soundtrack that filled the air with infectious energy and joy.
Choosing the venue was a no-brainer for Kaye, who had experienced firsthand the magic it held during a friend's wedding. With its ambiance of love and celebration, it provided the perfect backdrop for their special day, while their selected vendors brought their vision to life with professionalism and care.
