When Blair Mortimer saw her childhood 1961 Shasta camper sitting in disrepair, she didn’t see the outdated vehicle that used to take her on family trips to the deer lease. She saw an opportunity.
Mortimer and her husband spent a month renovating the baby blue camper into a high-end mobile bar with modern touches and a matte black finish.
They named their new creation Bubbly Like Champagne Mobile Bar.
“I wanted a name that represented us, and bubbly describes our personalities,” she said. “And champagne is my favorite drink.”
The couple launched their business in January of 2022 and have done everything from kids’ birthday parties with signature non-alcoholic drinks to an elopement event where they served champagne for toasts, beer, wine and frozen specialty drink.
“We are a dry hire. They supply the booze, and we supply the rest,” Mortimer said. “That means cups, ice, napkins, straws, mixers, bartending service, certification, and general and liquor liability insurance.”
If brides and grooms don’t know where to start when it comes to purchasing the alcohol for their big day, Mortimer has a list of vendors that will be happy to work with them.
Mortimer said she wants the mobile bar to be a stress-free experience that puts the focus on the bride and groom.
“Whenever I talk to brides, they ask, well, what do people like? And I say, ‘what do you like?’ I feel like it is easy to get lost in the planning and make it about everyone else. Guests should get to experience what you like.”
One recent customer chose Vodka and Tequila, so the mobile bar included specialty drinks with those ingredients on their bar menu, as well as keg beer.
Along with all your favorite drinks, the mobile bar also comes with their own generator so they can park at any venue.
Bubbly Like Champagne offers customized everything, and that includes the price.
“We do our pricing through a questionnaire instead of doing packages because it’s cheaper for the couple,” she said.
