Brittany + Christen

Brittany and Christen’s journey began during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. Like many couples during that time, they met online, eager to connect despite the challenges of the world. Their first in-person date was everything they hoped for and more. The chemistry was undeniable—Christen even asked Brittany out on a second date before the first one had ended! Of course, she said yes, setting the stage for a beautiful love story.

The Perfect Proposal

Christen’s proposal was nothing short of magical. He planned an entire day filled with surprises that reflected their shared love for adventure and meaningful experiences. The day began with a trip to Salado, where they made glass hearts at Salado Glassworks and explored the quaint shops on Main Street. Lunch at the Inn on the Creek provided a charming midday break before heading to Axis Winery for a private wine tasting. As the day drew to a close, Christen led Brittany back to Waco, where they were greeted by a stunning candlelit dinner prepared by Chef Pao Chamberlain. It was in this romantic setting that Christen proposed, accompanied by a heartfelt slideshow of their relationship. After Brittany said “yes,” the couple headed to McLane Stadium, where family and friends awaited to celebrate their engagement.

Inspiration Behind Their Wedding Theme

Brittany and Christen’s wedding theme was a beautiful reflection of their faith and the idea of new beginnings. Inspired by the goodness of God, they chose fresh, citrusy colors with coral shades that perfectly complemented the sunset backdrop of their special day. The vibrant colors brought a sense of joy and renewal to their celebration, symbolizing the new chapter they were embarking on together.

A Unique Celebration of Family

What made Brittany and Christen’s wedding truly special was the intentional inclusion of their blended family. With seven children between them, they made sure to involve their kids throughout the ceremony and reception. The couple wrote special vows to each other’s children, promising to love and cherish them as their own. A touching tree planting ceremony symbolized the growth of their new family, and after their first dance as a couple, they shared a joyful family dance to “We Are Family” by Sister Sledge. This moment of unity and fun was a highlight of the celebration, reflecting the love and togetherness that defines their family.

A Dream Venue and Perfect Vendors

The moment Brittany and Christen visited Parsons Castle at Lake Whitney, they knew it was the perfect venue for their wedding. The castle’s unique beauty and stunning views of the water created a breathtaking setting for their rooftop sunset ceremony. It was a dream come true for the couple. Their wedding coordinator, Shauna Hamby, played a crucial role in bringing their vision to life, ensuring every detail was perfect and that the day ran smoothly.
